Edgar Stene Prize Competition 2012- Reminder

The Edgar Stene competition is organised by the European League Against Rheumatism (EULAR) and involves writing an essay on a particular topic to do with living with a rheumatic condition. It was set up in honour of the late Edgar Stene who suffered from severe ankylosing spondylitis and was a great promoter of co-operation between doctors, patients and community workers.
This year the essay title is: Overcoming the challenges of getting a round with a rheumatic or musculoskeletal disease.
The essay should include how you overcome challenges of moving around in your own house, how you get to work, how you participate in social activities such as meeting up with friends and family or how you go to the cinema or enjoy holidays.
It should be submitted, type written in Microsoft Word on no more than two pages of A4 (Arial 12 point, single line space, adequate frames) and e-mailed to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. by 31st of December 2011. The winner will be announced by March 15th 2012.
The prize for the winner is €2000, which will be awarded at the opening ceremony of the next EULAR meeting to be held in Berlin, Germany on 6th June 2012. EULAR will also provide the prize winner with travel to Berlin, hotel accommodation for up to 4 nights and an invitation to attend the opening ceremony and the gala dinner at the Congress.
