FM Conference Weekend Away Count Down

With a little over a month to the final closing date for bookings for the Fibromyalgia Conference & Pamper Weekend in West Sussex, anyone interested in listening to top health professional speakers with an opportunity to learn, laugh and have fun, should hurry and book now.

Although we have no single rooms left, we still have twin singles and two room chalets for three friends. Of course that does depend how many people you can get in one double and one single bed.  All accommodation is en suite with colour TV, tea making facilities, etc. There are also a few special chalets for those confined to wheelchairs.

The conference and pamper weekend has been organised by volunteers with fibromites in mind as a not for profit event. Working under the umbrella of FMA UK those with this rotten invisible disability can bring partners to share the ‘fibro’ experience, listen to  keynote speakers at one venue, rest when they wish and relax and have fun.

Our specialist speakers include Dr Ernest Choy, consultant rheumatologist, from Kings College Hospital, London, who will discuss the understanding of new advances in fibromyalgia; Dr Peter Fisher, Clinical Director and Research Director from the Royal London Homeopathic Hospital and physician and homeopath to Her Majesty the Queen Elizabeth II, who has agreed to give us a presentation.

Another important speaker is Dr Nick Avery, a leading specialist in the world of CAM (Complementary & Medicine) from Harley Street and The Princess Margaret Hospital.  His medical interests include asthma, eczema, Chronic Fatigue and Irritable Bowel Syndromes as well as the use of acupuncture. Dr Ian Treasaden, a forensic scientist, is a  world leading expert on  nutrition and how food affects mood. Dr  Nina Bailey will  speak on digestive health and chronic fatigue syndrome.

Dr Maged Agour will give a presentation on  his research into sleep disorders. The controversial Lightning Process as used by Esther Rantzen  for her daughter Emily who had ME/CFS  will be presented by Ben Oakley an advanced practitioner of this Australian process. There should be more speakers to come.

With more workshops to be finalised we already have a session on benefits question and answer, finding funding for your group, fibromyalgia research, a laughter workshop, yoga, Tai Chi and Pilates, new micro current treatments, antioxidant treatments, EFT, hypnotherapy, not to mention the free pamper tasters and the pre book able one to one therapies at conference discounts.

We will be searching for the best group newsletter colour and B&W; inviting groups to provide information about themselves for twinning with another group. For more details about  twinning or booking the conference on April 23/26 2010 at the Southdowns Holiday Village, Bracklesham Bay, log on to here or contact me.  Hope you can come.
