It was good to see a large number of our present members, and it was great that all the publicity that had been done for this event paid dividends, in that it brought along a large number of people who had Fibromyalgia but who had not previously heard of this support group.
We were very pleased to welcome Cllr. Trevor Clarke and Cllr Sylvia Griffin of Rochester South and Horsted Ward, pictured with the two Margarets. They were both very complimentary about the event. Also pictured are Co-ordinator Margaret, members Deb, Margaret and Nikki, and Pam Wright who wrote ‘The Fibromyalgia Coach’
Carol Clark gave taster sessions on the Bowen Technique, whilst Thelma West, a Homeopath, gave taster sessions on reflexology and other alternative therapies. UK mobility also came along with some of their wares and gave advice on the helpful aids that they sell.
Tea, coffee, cold drinks, cakes and biscuits were all available free of charge and were enjoyed by those attending, and it was good to see so many sitting around the tables chatting to one another. The day was a great success and our special thanks must be given to Alison Thompsett who worked very hard planning and promoting the event.
Thanks must also go to Deb our Librarian for the day, Hazel, Margaret and Peter who looked after the refreshments, Sharon who helped raise funds by selling our books and DVDs, and Jean who, along with Ron and myself, greeted and spoke to all the people who attended the event. Thanks also go to Rob and James for helping to set up and put away the tables and chairs.
