Abbey-Bernadette's story

My story By Abbey-Bernadette Roberts

I've been a Fibromyalgia suffer since I was 15, over the past 10 years I've found it extremely hard to get a diagnosis, support or simply to get people to believe me.

The 12th May, every year, is Fibromyalgia Awareness Day, this condition has dominated my adult life & I decided I wanted to commemorate a decade of suffering by doing something positive & doing a sponsored walk, one mile for each year I have had Fibromyalgia.

For those of you who do not know about this condition please follow this link for more information. http://www.fmauk.org/whatisfm

In October 2011 my fiance Patrick raised money for FMAUK by running the Liverpool Marathon, this is my own personal marathon as whilst Fibromyalgia took hold of my body, I've changed from a very active dancer at 15 to a 25 year old who is racked with pain & often needs a walking stick just to get through the day.

I am hoping by doing this walk that I raise money & awareness in order to help current sufferers & to hopefully make it easier for future sufferers to be able to get diagnosed much sooner & to have better support provided for them.

Please help me do this, any donation is greatly appreciated. Thank you. You can donate here: http://www.justgiving.com/Abbey-Bernadette
