Samworth Brothers Charity Challenge

ImageThe Samworth Brothers Charity Challenge, to be held in the Lake District on the 30th June, is aimed at raising as much money as possible for good causes.  We are delighted that FMA UK has been chosen to be one of them! More information can be found on the events website.

What is the Challenge?
This is a triathlon for teams of four who will take part in a13km walk/scramble to an altitude of 958m and a 32km bike ride climbing to 632m, both in the Helvellyn mountain range, and a 10km canoe across the lake at Ullswater.  Quite a challenge.  To see just how tough this event will be, check out the route by following this link

Where does FMA UK come into this?
George Hebditch is taking part and raising funds for FMA UK as his mother is a fibromyalgia sufferer.  George is the team co-ordinator for Marks and Spencer team 2 who are calling themselves ‘The Sushi Queens'.  His team will be raising sponsorship for three charities; FMA UK, Breakthrough and Dreams Come True.

About George
George has worked for Marks & Spencer as a Food Buyer for over 4 years after studying Food & Catering Management at Bournemouth University.

George's mother works as an accountant, is a qualified reflexologist and, until recently, has been in fairly good health.  Always an active person, who even played for Brighton & Hove Albion ladies, she now struggles to walk the stairs without pain... quite a deterioration!

What can you do to help?
With George and his team putting in so much effort on our behalf, it would be brilliant if we could help him in his challenge.  Any donation, however small, would make a tremendous difference and raise much needed funds and awareness for the Association.  It is so difficult for us to take part in fundraising activities due to our health limitations but we can help those who make the effort on our behalf.
