S Gloucestershire Awareness Stall - Yate

South Gloucestershire Fibromyalgia Support group will have an Awareness stall at an event to celebrate 50 years of Yate Shopping Centre on Saturday 22nd and Sunday 23rd August 2015

Lynne Cullen tells us:

"A new Mural has been commissioned to replace the one which was destroyed when the new Tesco was built. Our very own Sue Bruten was commissioned to design it which could then bedivided up into tiles and painted by local school children. Sue’s artistic talent shows no bounds, and I for one can’t wait to see the finished artwork.

Well done Sue. We will be there on Saturday 22nd and possibly Sunday as well. Sue has kindly invited us along to run a Fibromyalgia Awareness Table and Showcase JuLeS4u Hand Made Jewellery, in one of the empty shops (between the Halifax and Phone Junkies), The walls will be adorned with an exhibition of Sue’s artwork. There will be many fun events over the whole weekend so will definitely be worth a visit. Please come along and support this event"

The charity is run by volunteers, most of whom have fibromyalgia.

Health Professional Pack

If your Health Care Professional needs some education in fibromyalgia you can request that an FMA UK Health Professionals Pack is sent out to them. All we need is the name of the Health CareProfessional and the address of their practice. We will then send a pack to their surgery addressed from us to them.

Join a Support Group

You can find a Support Group near you by contacting the Regional Coordinator for your area. If there does not happen to be a support group near you then maybe you can join with some other members and set one up. Support groups provide a social benefit as well as the opportunity to share tips on coping with fibro. They come in all shapes and sizes and we are often told how they have helped people.
