Kerry Sheran from Gift that Bottle donates £1 from every item to FMA UK

Kerry Sheran does beautiful handmade gifts through crafts and innovative personalised gift bottles for every occasion: birthday, anniversary, friendship and many more. She runs a facebook shop ‘’Gift that Bootle’’ https://www.facebook.com/Craftykerz/ and donates £1 from the sale of every item to FMA UK.
Kerry tells us why she supports us: ‘’the reason I chose to do this for FMA is that I was diagnosed with fibromalgia & FND (a neurological condition) in January after I lost the feeling in my legs...although now after research mostly through FMA UK website I realise I have had this horrible condition for many years. My life has changed drastically over this year, having to give up work has been difficult for me to get to terms with. I'm extremely fatigued, spend most days in pain & don't want to go out the house..however I found a hobby making personalised items at home..I find it therapeutic.
I don't make them to profit but because I enjoy it. I sell the items just a little over what it costs to make them. They are selling well so far...and thought it would be great to donate to FMA as I think awareness of this condition is needed. People need to understand that we have a very life changing illness, that we suffer with everyday. Our condition is invisible to others..even family members struggled to understand it but thanks to FMA UK for their leaflets etc. they now understand a bit more...Thank you.’’

Our professionally printed Information pack on fibromyalgia can be found here to view. You will also receive a free copy on request. We also have a booklet for young people with fibromyalgia that you can obtain on request and will be on the website soon.

The charity is run by volunteers, most of whom have fibromyalgia.
If your Health Care Professional needs some education in fibromyalgia you can request that an FMA UK Health Professionals Pack is sent out to them. All we need is the name of the Health CareProfessional and the address of their practice. We will then send a pack to their surgery addressed from us to them.

You can find a Support Group near you by contacting the Regional Coordinator for your area. If there does not happen to be a support group near you then maybe you can join with some other members and set one up. Support groups provide a social benefit as well as the opportunity to share tips on coping with fibro. They come in all shapes and sizes and we are often told how they have helped people.
