Join the #DesignforMSK project for young people

The project is organised by The University of Manchester and Central Manchester NHS Foundation Trust. It is a new public engagement project in collaboration with NIHR Manchester Musculoskeletal Biomedical Research Unit called Design for MSK.
It aims to raise awareness of musculoskeletal (MSK) conditions like fibromyalgia in younger people by inviting those aged 16-26 to share their experiences of living with their condition using the #DesignforMSK hashtag on social media. Contributions will then be used to inspire a group of young patients and product design students in Manchester who will work to create solutions to issues identified by patients. Both the final products/prototypes and the process will be exhibited in Manchester during November 2016.
A message from the organsier: At the moment, we are looking for young people to take part in our first ideas sharing workshop on Saturday 9th July in Manchester (registration and further details here: http://designformsk.eventbrite.co.uk) All travel expenses will be reimbursed and attendees will receive vouchers for involvement.

If your Health Care Professional needs some education in fibromyalgia you can request that an FMA UK Health Professionals Pack is sent out to them. All we need is the name of the Health CareProfessional and the address of their practice. We will then send a pack to their surgery addressed from us to them.

You can find a Support Group near you by contacting the Regional Coordinator for your area. If there does not happen to be a support group near you then maybe you can join with some other members and set one up. Support groups provide a social benefit as well as the opportunity to share tips on coping with fibro. They come in all shapes and sizes and we are often told how they have helped people.
