In order to use our site a valid email address must be given and verified. Our website will send you an activation email with a link to validate your email address. Your account will not be able to logon to the site until this is completed.
As well as this activation procedure our system monitors some common databases used by forums to detect spam as well as other methods. Your access to the site could be rejected due to your
- email address
- username
- ip address
appearing on these databases that we check. These databases are not controlled by us but we use them to minimise false user registrations and spamming of our website. It is very effective at this but sometimes there are false positives.
If you think you have been mistakenly caught by one of our processes above please contact us here with a note of the following:
- error message
- username
- email address used to register on the site
We will then review the matter and resolve it as quickly as we can.
Captchas
We use Captchas to help control the amount of spam our site receives. These are explained in a bit more detail here. Unfortunately if we did not use these then the amount of spam that we would have to deal with would overwhelm our volunteers and impact on other work. So while they can be a bit of a nuisance they are needed for the time being. We continually review methods for controlling spam so if a better solution presents itself then we will use it.

If your Health Care Professional needs some education in fibromyalgia you can request that an FMA UK Health Professionals Pack is sent out to them. All we need is the name of the Health CareProfessional and the address of their practice. We will then send a pack to their surgery addressed from us to them.

You can find a Support Group near you by contacting the Regional Coordinator for your area. If there does not happen to be a support group near you then maybe you can join with some other members and set one up. Support groups provide a social benefit as well as the opportunity to share tips on coping with fibro. They come in all shapes and sizes and we are often told how they have helped people.
