If you are a semi serious runner and would like to support the fibromyalgia cause, here is a wonderful opportunity. FMA UK has managed to secure 6 places for the exciting British 10k London run through the city centre. The route starts at Hyde Park and travels along Piccadilly and Pall Mall to the Embankment. Turning at Tower Bridge, the route returns to cross Westminster Bridge in both directions, pass the Houses of Parliament and turn up Whitehall to finish at Horse Guards Parade.
The places will be allocated to the first 6 applications that agree to raise awareness and funds on our behalf.
We find with events like these awareness is as important as fund raising and hope that we will also have supporters with leaflets willing to let people know about fibromyalgia along the route as well as at the start and finish. If you feel able to help with this please contact FMA UK. If you bring a chair and some cushions it could be a comfortable day.
Please note it is a condition of entry that entrants will be able to complete the race within 2 hours. Any fancy dress costumes must be functional and runner friendly. All entrants must be over 15 on race day. Please see the race website www.thebritish10klondon.co.uk for further details of conditions or contact FMA UK.
The race takes place on the 10th July 2011 at 9.35am.
If you are interested in entering please complete the application form below and post to the FMA UK office.
