EULAR Edgar Stene UK Winner.
The UK winning entry for the EULAR Edgar Stene Prize is Victoria Garret from Wolverhampton. Victoria's entry describes her daily working life while suffering from scleroderma of the lung.The overall winner will be announced by 15th April 2010. The prize being 2,000 euro with the winning entrant being flown to Rome where free hotel accommodation is provided for up to four nights and an invitation to the opening ceremony and gala dinner.

TAP FM Celebrate 10th Anniversary
The Lord Provost of Dundee gave a Civic Reception in honour of Tayside, Angus and Perthshire FM support group's tenth anniversary on the 19th of February 2010.
The committee members were all presented with a paperweight with TAP FM on it and, to her delight, the rheumatology nurse who started the whole thing off way back in 1999 was presented with a bunch of flowers.
FMA UK would like to thank TAP FM for the great work they are doing and wish them many more happy years to come.
Heart Fm features Sally from the forum
Sally (Butterfly74) from the forum has been interviewed by the news team at Heart Radio Berkshire about how FM affects her. She is the wife of Heart's drivetime presenter John. It will go to air on Thursday Morning between 6am and 10am.
Sally says "Mainly they wanted a personal account of how FM affects me and what my normal day is , but I managed to get the website details in and also the details of the petition running online (which we have added another 100 hundred names to in only 3 or 4 days so keep pushing it!!!!!)

FM Conference Weekend Away Count Down
With a little over a month to the final closing date for bookings for the Fibromyalgia Conference & Pamper Weekend in West Sussex, anyone interested in listening to top health professional speakers with an opportunity to learn, laugh and have fun, should hurry and book now.
Although we have no single rooms left, we still have twin singles and two room chalets for three friends. Of course that does depend how many people you can get in one double and one single bed. All accommodation is en suite with colour TV, tea making facilities, etc. There are also a few special chalets for those confined to wheelchairs.
Chief medical officer Sir Liam Donaldson resigns
Chief medical officer for England Sir Liam Donaldson is to step down in May after 12 years in the post. His achievements include the smoking ban, the creation of the Health Protection Agency and the introduction of clinical governance. Sir Liam has led the response to the swine flu pandemic and has said that, if it unexpectedly worsens, he will stay in post beyond May.
Sir Liam Donaldson has in his most recent Annual Report recognised the impact of chronic pain on lives including the impact that fibromyalgia has. He had in the past helped FMA UK to send copies of our Medical Professional Booklet to all GPs in the UK.Change: Shelly's story of her fm and her music
Shelly has just released her new six song EP “Change” on the 16th November. As a singer-songwriter she is well accustomed to change and the challenges associated with creating this labour of love. She has managed this excellent achievement while battling with fibromyalgia. Shelly mentions that her
"lyrics were inspired by events in my life that became difficult to handle on top of having FMS. I felt like I literally had no fuel to keep going, something would perk me up, but only for a while."
