FMA UK partners with Polkadotgals to offer 2009 awareness calendar. PDF Print E-mail
Monday, 27 October 2008
together in painFMA UK is proud to offer the PolkadotGals calendar for sale through our website (Order here). This is a great opportunity to raise awareness, as the calendar and the PolkadotGals have already been doing. Ideas such as this are exactly the sort of thing to make people more aware of fibromyalgia.

The Calendar has been professionally shot by London Photographer Luke Varley, and it features model Danni Wells, 100m hurdler Sara McGreavy and Coventry City footballers. It is now available in the UK, Europe and in the US. We have them in stock ready to be shipped, so you can order them here or you can order it from PolkadotGals as well.

Bianca says about her struggle "A year ago, just over ten years after an accident which caused my Fibromyalgia (fms), I felt a deep need to raise awareness of FMS within the press and media. I needed to change people’s perception of this debilitating and life shattering illness, hence the Polkadotgals was created, with our 2009 celebrity calendar at its helm. What was a small project quickly gained pace to become an international campaign whose purpose was promoting awareness of FMS." You can purchase the Polkadot Girls Calendar from here.

behind the screenAfter attending the International Leaders Against Pain Conference in the U.S.A with Pam Stewart, chair of FMA UK, Bianca said "It was wonderful to spend time with Pam Stewart and we had great fun together, for me it opened my eyes to the extent of exactly what Pam does, and how tirelessly and self-giving she is of the cause.  We all need to rally together as a community to change the face of FMS in the UK. I am greatly looking forward to working with Pam and FMA UK together with all of you in the future to help take this cause forward."

So lets start by getting a calendar on show in every coffee shop, pub, or any other place that people will visit. People can also learn a small bit of what it means to have fibromyalgia as every month features a small statement about how fibromyalgia affects sufferers.

Below is an extract from the calendar for November and shows the phrase  "The could be you! Stripped of Life"
