There are many ways you can support FMA UK, the UK's leading fibromyalgia charity. You could donate, start your own fundraising, volunteer and much more. Your support will help us to continue our vital awareness work. Together we will raise the awareness of this condition.
Donate your time and experience
Update: We have received a number of enquiries already which is great. Further requests to volunteer are still welcome so please register your details. However as we work with the existing pool of volunteers we may take some time to process further volunteer enquiries but we will get in touch.
If you are willing to help us we would love to hear from you. Our volunteers help with administration work, support groups, fundraising activities and lots more. Volunteers are vital to FMA UK.
Make good use of your skills, get involved in your local community and gain valuable experience while supporting our campaigns. If you are interested in helping FMA UK by volunteering then please fill out the volunteer enquiry form.
Volunteer tasks
There are a number of tasks that we need volunteers to help out with. Follow this link to see the current list of tasks, and decide how you can help out. More information is available on each task and support will be given. Ideas are also appreciated so feel free to contribute to our list as well.
Posters and Leaflets
You can also raise awareness by requesting posters and leaflets and putting them up in local places that people will take notice. If you have not already requested them, then please order some by filling in the resources enquiry form. If you have already put some up then check if they need more leaflets.
Here are some of the places that you can place posts and/or leaflets:
- Dr's Surgery
- Local Rheumatologist
- Hospital Physio Department
- Supermarket
- Church
- Community Centre
- Library
- Workplace (your own and any others that you can think of)
- Job Centre
- Local Pub
- Student union
When ordering posters and leaflets please consider making a small donation as well. Anything that you can give to help cover the cost of posting material out is appreciated.
Donate money
It is easy to give a one-off donation or set up a regular standing order. If you are a UK taxpayer we will receive an extra 28% from the Inland Revenue if you tick the Gift Aid box.
Payroll Giving
Your company may support charities through setting up payroll giving schemes, fundraising activities, making a donation to charity or sponsoring specific projects.
In Memory
Many people who have lost a loved to heart disease choose to ask for donations to charity in lieu of flowers.
Recycle for FMA UK
You can donate your old mobile phones and inkjet cartridges to help the environment and raise funds for FMA UK. Click here to find how it works as well as more information.
Organise your own fundraising event
Why not do a sponsored swim or run, or even better get your husband or wife to do it and and you can organise the collecting and sponsorship forms. If you have fundraising ideas, we'll help you realise them. If you are carrying out a sponsored event then we can supply a t-shirt.
You could also try fund-raising at work with your colleagues, or at an organisational level. It is easy to organise, great for team spirit and vital to our continued funding.
