Reading Fibromyalgia Support Group
Fibromyalgia is a chronic illness of widespread pain and fatigue. The Reading Fibromyalgia Support Group supports fibromyalgia sufferers, their family and friends and covers Berkshire and surrounding counties. Reading Helpline email:suefibro@tiscali.co.uk Regular monthy meetings are held at Prospect Park Hospital, Honey End Lane,Tilehurst on a Monday evening at 6.00 pm. The meeting dates for 2007 are on the second Monday of the month: March 12th, April 16th, May 14th, June 11th, July 9th, Sept 10th, October 8th, November 12th, Dec 10th.
A free information pack is sent out on request. As well as Reading's information it also contains information about the Fibromyalgia Associtation UK (FMA UK) that works with more than 100 groups like ours throughout the country.
A contacts list is also useful for those living outside Reading and it is hoped that more people will make new fibro friends which could lead to starting small local support groups in areas where there are no groups at present.
Our services provide a quarterly newsletter, speakers at meetings and a lending library for a yearly subscription of £3.00.
You can also visit the Fibromyalgia Association UK's website: http://www.fmauk.org to learn more about fibromyalgia and how you can support the national association, subscribe to the FM magazine, FaMily, and purchase fibromyalgia books and merchandise. FMAUK operates a 10am - 4 pm weekday national helpline, 0845 3452322, if you'd like to talk to a fibromyalgia sufferer. For benefit enquiries there is a Mon AND Fri 10 am - 12 noon helpline: 0870 751 7389
