Folly Pogs lose their ball |
By Jeanne Hambleton
As I write this on Friday September 12 2008, the Night of the Folly Pogs Ball, I am sipping a stiff drink to drown my sorrows and feeling a bit dejected.
I have even received a good luck message from Marilyn Kellow, Leader of the Christchurch FM SG, as well as voucher for flowers, a bottle of Scotch Whisky, and some money to buy raffle prizes, which have all been returned. It is obvious that our bad news has not reached north of the Watford gap - probably because I am not proud of it.

'Womans Hour' on Radio 4 features Fibromyalgia |
|
( 33 minutes in and Real player may be required to listen to this programme.)
BBC Radio 4's Woman's Hour will be carrying out a piece on Fibromyalgia on Monday 8th September between 10am and 10.45am as part of FMA UK's Awareness Week.
It will be featuring FMA UK Medical Advisory Board member Dr Ernest Choy, a consultant Rheumatologist and Director of Research and Development at King's College Hospital. It will also feature Janet Horton FMA UK trustee (you will also know her from the benefits helpline and the forum), and Barbara a sufferer.
Details are still subject to change and, from talking to the producer of the show, it sounds as if it will be a good piece on awareness week.

Appointment of Des Quinn as Trustee |
The Trustees of FMA UK are delighted to announce that Des Quinn has accepted our invitation to join the Board of Trustees. We are sure that his energy and enthusiasm will help take the work of FMA UK forward.
Des started helping FMA UK in 2006 by taking on the development of our website from the tremendous job that trustee, Jean Turner, had done prior to that. Since then, he has designed and implemented a completely new website for FMA UK. With the addition of our forums to our website which have proved extremely popular, fibromyalgia sufferers from all over the UK and beyond are interacting as a virtual support group.
At the time of writing there are over 4,000 registered members on the forum and nearly a quarter of a million posts.
