we were glad to be accepted in September as a member organisation.

Research trial for Fibromyalgia medication |
We have received this request for participants in a new study at Charing Cross London Hospital. It would probably suit suffers within easy travelling distance of the hospital.
The Department of Rheumatology at Kennedy Clinical Trials Unit at Charing Cross Hospital is conducting an international study investigating a possible new treatment for fibromyalgia.
If you are at least 18 years old and suffer from fibromyalgia, you may qualify to take part. Participation will involve taking either study medication or placebo for 14 weeks. You will be monitored throughout with regular visits to the hospital including questionaires, blood tests and clinical examinations.

The raffle has now been drawn. Winners will be announced soon. Thank you to all that took part.
Win a week's stay in Malta with flights for two in this year's FMA UK annual raffle. The week in the villa has been generously donated to us by someone within the fibromyalgia community and we have managed to persuade Air Malta to donate the flights. What could be better than a winter break in Maltese sunshine without the worry of the cost of accommodation and travel?
We also have over 30 prizes of tickets for attractions in various parts of the UK to cater for all tastes. These include tickets for the Beatles Experience in Liverpool, Blackpool Pier and pantomime, Pendennis Castle in Cornwall, Compton Acres in Poole, Dorset, Cardiff Castle in Wales, West Midlands Safari Park and Birmingham Rep.

September FaMily magazine |
|
This month read about how Madeliana Murthwaite has transformed her life with fibromyalgia through art. She has gone on to reach great heights of success in the art world with her own exhibition and uses every opportunity to raise funds for FMA UK and her local support group.
Also, midwife Denyse Moore, brings her column to a close with good advice on coping with a newborn baby and the after affects of labour. I hope you have enjoyed these columns and benefited from the expert advice. Don’t forget you can still contact Denyse via e-mail or through her website.
With best wishes,
Kathy Longley (FMA UK Editor)(Subscribe to FaMily Magazine to get more of these articles)
