I’m a trustee and vice-Chair of FMA UK. My main responsibility is as treasurer, although there are a multitude of other things that are always needed to get done.
I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia in 2001 and by 2004 I had to stop working. For the 17 years prior to that, I had worked as a chartered accountant for a large professional services firm in London.
I’m now 42 and live in Amersham with my partner and we have an adorable yellow Labrador.
I volunteered initially helping to set up a local support group, then became a Regional Coordinator (a role now relinquished) and in more recent times became a Trustee. Hopefully the volunteering does something to keep my mind active and allows the charity to benefit from some of the skills I learnt while working. |
