FMA UK eMail Newsletter - December 09

Hi [FIRSTNAME],

Welcome to the first FMA UK eMail newsletter. We hope to provide you a monthly newsletter with the latest information from the website, what's going on elsewhere within the UK to do with fibromyalgia and of course what will be featuring in the print version of our new monthly magazine Fibromyalgia Focus. I would also like to wish you season's greetings for the holidays and hope that you have a lovely time.

The big story this month is the upcoming launch of Fibromyalgia Focus, our new 24 page, full colour magazine. We have taken the comments on-board from the recent survey, as well as what we have learned through our past efforts to introduce what we hope to be the premier source of printed fibromyalgia information within the UK. It will not just be copies of articles from websites that you may have read already, but information written specifically for our readers.

Of course with our new start we will be able to feature more information from support groups around the country so keep sending your articles in. Fibromyalgia Conference and Pamper Weekend
Below is a message from Jeanne Hambleton the Regional Coordinator for some of the South of England Regions. She is organising a conference for fibromyalgia with a difference!!! Please read on and make sure if you are going to attend that you book early.

We are planning a South of England Conference & Pamper Weekend at the Southdowns Holidays Village, Bracklesham Bay, from Friday to Monday, April 23/26, 2010, with surplus funds to research for FMS. Read more...

There are numerous sites on the Internet promising you every sort of potion, lotion and pill. When your GP won’t listen to your ailment list (we’ve all got a good long one of those) and you think you should be treated for something when all you got was two paracetamol and some fibrogel, it could be tempting to have a look at some of these sites and pick your own painkillers or buy your own sleeping tablets.

FMA UK October Newsletter
The Board of Trustees of Fibromyalgia Association UK have recognised the need to keep Regional Coordinators and members of local support groups updated with information about the work that they are undertaking on behalf of people with fibromyalgia and their carers.

This will take the form of a Newsletter which will be published twice a year and circulated to all local groups via their own Regional Coordinators. Below is an outline of what has been happening since the Group Leaders’ Meeting in May, 2009. Read more...

FMA UK is comprised of volunteers without which we would not manage to do what we do. All the efforts of groups, volunteers, regional coordinators, the office staff and the trustees help to raise awareness of fibromyalgia. All monies whether they be donations, sales of products or fundraising efforts are funnelled into helping us reach our objectives of making fibromyalgia a better understood condition and to improve the plight of those that have fibromyalgia. Thank you for all your support.
