The Role of the Regional Coordinator

Below are the list of responsibilities of a Regional Co-ordinator.

  1. Keep up to date with FMA UK news from the FMA UK Trustees, office, website (www.fmauk.org) and magazine: Fibromyalgia Focus
  2. Cascade this news and any other information to groups within the region by e-mail or snail mail.
  3. Keep in touch with groups in the region by e-mail, telephone, meetings or newsletter.
  4. Help to resolve local group difficulties, asking the advice of a Trustee if necessary.
  5. Represent the views of groups and helplines at meetings with the Trustees and report back information gained.
  6. Try to organise a regional meeting annually if feasible.
  7. Direct new enquirers to their local group or helpline.
  8. Answer regional e-mails generated from FMA UK website www.fmauk.org
  9. Represent the region when invited to at specific meetings or exhibitions i.e. The Fibromyalgia All Party Parliamentary Group or medical professionals meetings.
  10. Provide support for people who wish to set up a new local helpline or support group.
  11. When invited visit local support groups.
  12. Uphold the FMA UK confidentiality policy at all times, if in doubt make contact with the RC’s Liaison who will seek clarification from the Trustees if necessary.
